Santosh G. Menon, MD, FACC
Background
Dr. Menon was born in the southern tip of India. His family moved to New Jersey, near Princeton, where he was raised. As he grew up, he was influenced by many of the physicians surrounding him. Many of his aunts, uncles and family friends were physicians, as well as his older brother. Today Dr. Menon is a cardiologist specializing in heart failure and serves as the Medical Director of the Carl and Edyth Linder Heart Failure Treatment Center at The Christ Hospital.
Prior to joining Ohio Heart and Vascular Center in 2001, he served as co-director of the Congestive Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation Program at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine He also directed the fellowship program. As a general cardiologist and a heart failure specialist, he deals with patients who have fluid in their lungs and have weak heart muscles—and of course, general cardiac issues, such as heart attacks and high blood pressure.
Dr. Menon likes to quote Albert Einstein, who once said, “Before God we are equally wise and equally foolish.” But he adds, “I’m very passionate about my work and my patients’ well being. Seeing them get better. Sharing in their victories. I do my best. If I’ve not done so, I think I would be very unhappy.”
